Grafixx Print System - The Process
Digital Heat Transfers for Product Decoration

Grafixx is a revolutionary, patented process that brings digital technology to the product decorating industry.

As with other processes, images are printed on polyester film and then transferred by the client to its products using a variety of heat transfer equipment.

Being a digital technology, however, there are significant advantages to the Grafixx process that translate to exceptional quality and economy, especially on short run projects.

Grafixx produces a multi-color, 600dpi, photographic quality image that, depending on the artwork, can eclipse the quality of silk screen or offset processes.

In addition to superior quality, the salient Grafixx advantages are the economy and versatility it brings the short runs from fifty to fifty thousand:

• The process, including electronic art transfer, eliminates pre-press and set-up activities - makes short runs , including sample runs, cost effective.

• Art work can be changed easily and frequently within the same run - makes multiple short runs cost effective.

• Art work can be changed on each image - makes the ultimate short run of one cost effective - and, makes variable data applications a reality - barcodes, serial numbers, photos, names, addresses, etc.

Grafixx brings digital advantages to the decoration of a wide variety of products and by a large range of existing heat transfer equipment.

Grafixx Print System - How it works.

CDigital has operated its Grafixx printing system since 2001, initially, to decorate optical media - CD’s and DVD’s - and now to decorate a broad range of products of various substrates.

The all digital system is straightforward, fast, and produces a high quality output:

• Art work is electronically received, tweaked if necessary, and sent to a high speed print engine.

• A cmyk+w dry toner image is printed on the underside of a polyester film.

• The printed film is then coated with glue formulated to assist in adhering the image to the product substrate.

• The film is slit to client transfer equipment specifications and wound on cores.

The printed Grafixx film is then sent to the client to be transferred onto its products.

The Grafixx system has lower fixed costs per job since there is little pre-press and no physical printer set-up per job. The system uses only ecologically benign toner - no dyes, no inks, and no screens. And, Grafixx prints a multicolor image in one step.
